The city of Bhopal is located at the base of the Vindhya Mountains in central India, on the banks of the three rivers, therefore called "City on three rivers". This is a city with one of the world's largest population. It has its own railway station which serves as gateway to all neighboring cities including Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur. Bhopal has six districts that each have their own characteristic geographical features. The city is famous for its textile industries that are responsible for 18% exports from India. The history of this place dates back to 17th century when it was founded by Mughals under name 'Bhopal'. In 1818, it was fell into the hands of British empire. The city became a part of central India after Independence in 1947. The night shots of the city shots were filmed at a village called Narsi ka Pura, a village near Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The rest of the film was shot at Filmistan Studio, Mumbai. The lead role female role was played by Raima Sen who is from Kolkata and the lead male role is played by Rahul Bose from Delhi, who entered into films as a director as well as actor with this film. The film is directed by Milind Dhaimade who was the lead actor in that film. He worked with Amitabh Bachchan and Ajay Devgn in the film "Jai Ho" and had directed Hrithik Roshan's last three films (Hrithik Roshan: Killa, Krrish 3 and Krrish 4). "Bhopal: A Prayer For Rain" is an action thriller which has been released on Anand Gandhi Productions banner. It is a big budgeted flick with estimated budget of 200 Cr rupees. It is a biopic on the gas tragedy which happened in 1984 in Bhopal, India. This is a period drama based on the Indo-Pak wars of 1971 and 1999. In June 2013, Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Manish Tewari announced through Twitter that "Bhopal: A Prayer For Rain" would get tax exemption from Government of India. That was an indication that National Awards authority would give it an award like they did to "Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!" (2008) starring Farhan Akhtar. The film was released in theatres worldwide in April 2014 with the release date of 24 April in India and then in USA on 14 June 2014. The film did not go well commercially and was a commercially failure at the box office. The music of Bhopal: A Prayer For Rain is composed by Sachin-Jigar and lyrics were penned by Sandesh Shandilya. It consists of 6 songs, all composed by Sachin-Jigar with lyrics penned by Sandesh Shandilya.
